LaTonya Story, CEO and Founder of LPS Consulting PR, a sports and lifestyle boutique agency, retired in 2023 with over 23 years of experience working in the public relations and marketing space representing high-profile personalities, consumer and corporate brands, and non-profit organizations. Her current and past clients include Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, NFL, NBA and WNBA players, USA Olympians, coaches, sports and TV personalities, corporate brands, and business professionals.
LaTonya has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being named as one of the 100 Influential Black Women in Sports by Sports Illustrated and EmpowerOnyx, CNN Difference Maker, 2024 Glitz & Girlpower Trailblazer Award Honoree, 2012 Atlanta Business League’s Success Against the Odds Award, Women Out Front Award from Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball for her work in sports, and Women in PR Trailblazers Award. LaTonya was also recognized by Black Enterprise as one of the top sports executives to follow on Twitter.

After the untimely passing of her son Sterling from cancer in 2019, LaTonya later founded the Sterling Legacy Fund, a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower individuals in underrepresented communities by providing access to educational resources and mentorship, recreational facilities, and early detection healthcare screenings. She has also pledged to build basketball courts in the next three Super Bowl host cities, called Sterling Courts, in her son’s memory beginning with the first one installed at the Downtown Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada Las Vegas in February 2024.
She attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and is a member of WISE Atlanta, Black Sports Professionals and Diverse Representation. In 2021, LaTonya joined the American Cancer Society’s Women in Sports Council.
